About me
I create oil paintings that can foster a personal spaciousness and room to breathe. These images of space and place where living souls may enter, take root, and grow. I paint spaces and places that invite souls to deepen connections and expand meanings.
I started painting with acrylics in the late 60's, selling a few during graduate school and a summer art fair in my hometown of Appleton, Wisconsin. But while I've never wandered far from my creative core, I have worn many different career hats -- each one revealing an inner spark of creativity.
What makes space become a place? How about the addition of walls, trees, hills, shorelines, or buildings? When space is shaped, split, carved and given purpose, it will become place and take on meaning. In "Soul Spaces - Art By Chuck Morkin," I create images of space and place where living souls may enter, take root, and grow. I paint spaces and places that invite souls to deepen connections and expand meanings.
